Start with Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation’s parks and greenways page. It identifies the Monon Greenway and connecting routes such as the Hagan-Burke, Greyhound and White River greenways. Decide on a starting point and a turnaround before you set off; a short out-and-back works well when everyone in the group has a different pace.
For an outing that includes a destination, look at Central Park and the Monon Community Center. For a city-focused visit, the municipal Experience page highlights Midtown Plaza, City Center and the Arts & Design District. Choose one area to explore and use the official maps to check the connections.
Review current park and trail notices before leaving, and keep the plan flexible enough for a food or rest stop. The greenway can be the main activity or simply the link between two places you want to visit.
Plan with the official sources
This is an evergreen planning guide. Confirm access, opening times, admission, and program schedules with the venue before visiting.
