Today’s practical lead sorts out two Alpharetta early-voting sites and a separate ballot-return rule. Then choose a fall outing, compare two Restaurant Week dinners and get a few school, arts and community dates onto the calendar.
Civic services Today’s big storyTwo local early-voting stops, with an important ballot-return distinctionEarly voting for the November 3 General and Special Election is underway in Fulton County through Friday, October 30. Two sites on the county’s current list are Alpharetta Library, 10 Park Plaza, and Fulton County Health and Human Services North, 4700 North Point Parkway. Both give registered Fulton County voters a local option within the wider county network. The published advance-voting hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; and Sundays, noon–5 p.m. These are election service hours. They differ from ordinary library hours, so use the county’s election schedule for a voting trip. During early voting, county voters may use any listed Fulton advance site. On Election Day, they must use their assigned polling place instead. Before setting off, the county recommends checking registration information and a sample ballot through the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page, linked from its location page. Bring an accepted form of photo ID for in-person voting. The state’s list includes a Georgia driver’s license even if expired, a valid U.S. passport and qualifying government-issued photo ID. Use the full official identification page if your situation needs another option. Returning an absentee-by-mail ballot requires a separate destination check. Alpharetta Library is designated as a drop-box location; the North Point Parkway site is not designated on that list. County guidance limits advance-site returns to designated drop boxes or registrar offices, with drop boxes available during advance-voting dates and hours. Absentee ballots cannot be returned at an Election Day polling place. Check the county’s return instructions for your chosen method, rather than assuming every voting site accepts a mailed ballot.

News NotesSchools Innovation Academy has a Friday half day Innovation Academy’s official Flex Friday calendar labels October 16 “Cultivate – Half Day for All Students.” This campus-specific designation matters for families arranging the Friday routine. The opened schedule does not supply an exact dismissal time for the half day, so enrolled families should use the school’s current transportation and dismissal communications for clock times. The campus is at 125 Milton Avenue. City services City tax bills have a separate mailing update The city’s current published update says its 2026 property-tax bills are delayed while it awaits complete digest data from the Fulton Board of Assessors. The update gives no firm mailing date. City bills are separate from Fulton County and school bills. Use the city’s tax page for its payment process and keep each jurisdiction’s bill and deadline distinct. Arts Last days for Voces del Corazón Voces del Corazón remains on view through Saturday, October 17 at Alpharetta Arts Center, 238 Canton Street. The juried exhibition centers Hispanic and Latino experiences through personal stories, memory and cultural pride. Admission is free. City-listed gallery hours are Monday–Thursday 8:30 a.m.–8 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. The opening reception has already passed. Community Register for a Saturday watershed cleanup Rivers Alive volunteers check in at Rock Mill Park, 3100 Kimball Bridge Road, at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17. After 8:45 announcements, groups leave for assigned projects and return by 11:30 a.m.; the event runs until noon. The city asks for preregistration at tporter@alpharetta.ga.us or 678-297-6213. Ask the organizer about project suitability, minor participation and what to bring before signing up. Library services Library errands need a November 11 adjustment Alpharetta Branch lists an all-day closure for Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11. Ordinary branch service hours run Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with Sunday closed. Keep the holiday closure in mind for a library errand, and use the separate county election schedule for early-voting hours during October. Transportation A transportation renewal question is on the ballot Fulton County’s TSPLOST page describes a November 3 question on renewing a 0.75% transportation sales tax outside Atlanta for five years. Alpharetta’s linked planning list includes maintenance, intersection work, sidewalks and Alpha Loop projects in funding tiers. The project list describes uses under a renewal; it does not set a construction date for each item. Read the county question and city project sheet together for the proposed scope.
