The Local LeadEast Boca | A changed local destination Boca Green Market has a different Sunday addressIf Royal Palm Place is your mental map for Boca Green Market, update it before heading east. The Coastal Star reported the market's move on September 29; the organizer now lists Fifth Avenue Shops, 1954 NE Fifth Avenue, for its Sunday market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free, with purchases separate. Two different Sunday markets: Boca Green Market at Fifth Avenue Shops, 1954 NE Fifth Avenue, is not Boca Farmers Market at BRiC, 4950 Communication Avenue, Parking Lot H. Both list Sunday hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but the BRiC market runs year-round. The move described here concerns Boca Green Market, not the BRiC market. The organizer lists produce, artisan breads, specialty foods, handmade goods and live music. Its current season began September 27 and runs through May 2. Sunday, October 11 is the next occurrence after this edition. The market describes itself as family- and pet-friendly; check the organizer's current notice before bringing a pet or planning around a particular vendor. This is east Boca, not West Boca. The practical benefit is combining food shopping and browsing in one stop at the correct new address. We are not calling the move a new announcement today or promising that every advertised vendor will be there.

News NotesFamily discovery | Central Boca An indoor outing that explores life on Earth and beyond Life on the Edge opened September 26 at the Children's Science Explorium, 300 S Military Trail, and is scheduled through January 3. Its activities explore microbes, Mars missions and what light can reveal about distant places. The free-admission center is designed for ages 5 to 12 with caregivers; its posted hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends, with listed holiday closures. Local sports | FAU, east Boca FAU receiver joins national award consideration FAU announced October 7 that senior receiver Kelby Valsin was added to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, which recognizes candidates for the annual college-football receiving award. This is consideration, not an award win. The Owls have no game this weekend: the official schedule lists Army away on October 17 and Rice home on October 24, with the home kickoff still to be announced. Fans can use the bye week to check the next home dates rather than assume a Saturday game in Boca. Deadline reminder | City of Boca Raton Friday is the deadline to comment on the draft sustainability plan Boca's draft Sustainability Action Plan sets proposed actions through 2030, and the city is accepting feedback until October 9. This is a reminder of the approaching deadline, not a new adoption or a repeat of the whole proposal. The city's page links the draft, presentation and input form; comments can be submitted anonymously. Residents and businesses interested in the city's priorities still have time to read the materials and respond. Dining find | Central Boca Boca Brasserie's menu gives families prices to plan around At 5377 Town Center Road, Suite 200, Boca Brasserie's posted menu lists matzo ball soup at $9.95 and children's dishes, including cheese flatbread, chicken tenders and pasta with tomato sauce, at $10 each. These are regular menu listings, not a claimed discount or an opening announcement. The restaurant lists daily service from 11:30 a.m.; Thursday dinner runs to 10 p.m. Check the current menu, reservations and any tax or service charges before budgeting your meal. | ||||
